Minnesota Spinal Cord and Traumatic Brain Injury Research Symposium

We are about one year into the E-STAND clinical trial and we have enrolled and completed the surgery for three participants thus far. The initial results and positive patient testimonials are very encouraging.

Dr. Darrow presented preliminary results of the E-STAND study at the Minnesota Spinal Cord and Traumatic Brain Injury Research Symposium on January 31st. We will post on this forum before the next presentation of the E-STAND study so that interested individuals can attend.

Already, nearly 150 people have completed our pre-screening survey! Due to this enthusiastic response from the community, we are expanding the staff and infrastructure of the clinical trial to accommodate a large influx of participants. The next step will be comprehensive in-person screening for people who met the pre-screening criteria. This phase will be scheduled in the order that we received pre-screening submissions. We intend to enroll additional participants in the coming month. Thank you to those of you who have been patiently awaiting a response during this time of study expansion.

Thank you to the Minnesota Office of Higher Education and the Spinal Cord Injury and Traumatic Brain Injury Advisory Council for continued support for the E-STAND clinical trial and other SCI research.
